The Knowledge of the Runes
Runecast is not just a communication tool. It is a world where you possess a single 'Tower' with a Crystal at its center. By inscribing a 'Sigil' on this Crystal, you link to your destination tower. Casting Runes creates resonance, opening a 'Rune Circuit' between towers sharing the same Sigil. Messages do not remain on a server; they vanish when their time comes.
Your browser is your Tower. At the center of the top floor lies a Crystal. By inscribing a Sigil on this Crystal, you link and tune to your destination tower. You never enter someone else's Tower; you always look up at the sky from your own.
The crest inscribed on the Crystal at your Tower's center. It is automatically generated from the spell (password) you chant. Crystals engraved with the same Sigil open a 'Rune Circuit' and share the 'Rune Stream' flowing through it.
Glowing characters flowing through the Rune Circuit. Casting Runes creates resonance, opening a Rune Circuit between towers sharing the same Sigil. Each Rune has magical power (TTL) and vanishes when its time is up. They disappear from the sky and from the Tower's archives, leaving no trace.
The archive inside your Tower (IndexedDB). It stores copies of the Runes you have seen. When a Rune's magic fades, it is erased from here as well. No one can peek directly into another's Library.
Runes are only shared while someone remembers them. If a new Tower connects to the Rune Circuit, existing Towers can 'read aloud' the Runes from their Libraries. If no one is connected, Runes cast into the empty circuit vanish into the void, unknown to anyone.
The server forgets everything. Runes exist only in the Rune Circuit (P2P connection) between Towers and in their Libraries. When the magic fades, they are technically impossible to restore.
A mechanism to automatically cast Runes from external systems (Webhook). Think of it as a small automatic chanting machine placed at the base of your Tower.
A role that voluntarily keeps the Tower open to protect the Rune Circuit. By becoming a Keeper, you prevent your device from sleeping and continue to hold the Runes in your Library, passing them on to new visitors. You become the lighthouse keeper of the lore.
